The VI International Forum «Marine Industry of Russia» opened on May 17, 2016 at Gostiny Dvor exhibition hall in Moscow was organized with the support of the Marine Board under the Government of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation. Opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Alexander Potapov, Deputy Minister of Transport — head of the Federal Agency for Sea and Inland Water Transport Victor Olersky, Deputy Minister of Agriculture — head of the Russian Federal Fisheries Agency Ilya Shestakov, vice-president of «Rosneft»,OJSC Andrey Shishkin and the president of the United Shipbuilding Corporation Alexei Rakhmanov.

During the tour over the exhibition, the honorable guests visited the KSRC stand showcasing the projects of innovative research vessel intended for comprehensive investigations of biological resources and the offshore rigs supply vessel intended for carrying process materials, spare parts, water and provision to support operation in shallow waters of Arctic seas.

Furthermore, in the course of Forum business program KSRC specialists organized one of the round tables «Aspects of regulatory basis in shipbuilding development» where the participants discussed a wide range of methodological and managerial issues of standardization in shipbuilding industry.

Forum participants got acquainted with the current situation in national and international standardization, the main challenges in regulations development for shipbuilding industry, the prospects of industrial standards implementation in the context of «Standardization in the Russian Federation» Federal Law, as well as the capabilities of corporate standardization system using the example of the United Shipbuilding Corporation.

In the course of the event the main results of reorganization of Technical Committee 5 «Shipbuilding» and the implementation of Program for national standards development providing their harmonization with international standards in shipbuilding industry for 2016–2018 were demonstrated and the key challenges in the development of regulatory technical support for industrial companies were defined along with possible ways to resolve them via practical measures to protect the interests of Russian shipbuilding industry.
