The third Icebreakers Festival was held in Saint Petersburg during May holidays at Naberezhnaya Leitenanta Shmidta and Angliyskaya Naberezhnaya. The main Festival events for citizens and guests of the city took place on May 2 and 3. «Mudyug», «Ivan Kuzenshtern», «Kapitan Sorokin» icebreakers, floating museum icebreaker «Krasin» and «Sankt Peterburg» icebreaker designed by Baltsudoproekt CDB (KSRC affiliate) were open for the Festival visitors.
The organizers prepared many surprises for the guests including water tram tours to participating icebreakers from Bolshaya Neva that is usually closed for excursion boats. Moreover, the main stage at Naberezhnaya Leitenenta Shmidta was converted from the

The third Icebreakers Festival was held pursuant to the plan of the events for 2016 elaborated by the Marine Board under the Government of the Russian Federation with support of Saint Petersburg Government and Maritime Council of St. Petersburg Government. This year FSUE «Rosmorport», «Krasin» icebreaker as a part of the Museum of the World Ocean in Saint Petersburg and the Union of social, cultural and civil development of the society «Preobrazheniye» were the main organizers of the Festival.
